I’m an immigration historian, Russian linguist and East European area specialist.  Currently, I teach history at a local college.  Prior to this, I’ve worked as a military linguist, Presbyterian missionary, tow-truck driver and airborne infantryman (though thankfully not simultaneously.)

My research background is in American history, Ukrainian and Russian history, and immigration.  I’m presently focused on U.S. guest worker programs and the economic crisis in Ukraine.
