Best line I’ve heard in awhile.
I’m standing on a muddy lawn with the cultural affairs guy, and I say, “If I knew it was going to be so messy, I wouldn’t have worn the Bruno Maglis.”
A half second later he comes back with “That’s what O.J. Simpson said.”
A pic from the election day [...]
Thought the second presidential debate was largely a tie - Romney’s answers seemed more focused and effective, but Obama had some good stats at his disposal. The moderator was biased toward Obama (especially with her misleading self-insertion on the Benghazi attack.) All in all, both men looked and sounded presidential this time.
I think that’s bad [...]
My son just finished reading CS Lewis’s “Mere Christianity.”
I reminded me of how much I love this quote:
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”

One of the largest immigration raids in recent history was the 2006 raid against the Swift & Co. meatpacking corp. The raids hit several factories around the country, arresting around 1,300 illegal aliens. A full 23% of the Swift workforce was illegal.
The Center for Immigration Studies has followed the aftermath of [...]
Charlie Cook has some encouraging data over at National Journal — it looks like the Democratic advantage on generic ballots may have ended. Quinlan Rosner Research (Democrat) and Public Opinion Strategies (Republican) just published a poll on overall party support. Some key findings:
1. Americans split 42%-42% on a generic Congressional ballot.
2. Democrats [...]

If present trends continue, we’ll see wholesale independent buyer’s remorse. Obama’s overall numbers are average for a president at this point — 56% — but he’s doing little to arrest the erosion [...]
Anyone who’s studied immigration history knows that return rates have always been high among immigrants. American mythology posits hungry, eager peasants arriving in America, remaining here and quickly Americanizing. Quite simply, that’s a myth. A few immigrant groups did come here to stay — the Irish and the Jews among them. [...]
If irony were glucose, labor unions would put me in a sugar coma. These organizations ostensibly fight for the rights of the working man, but consistently undermine the rights and interests of the very people they claim to serve.
A few examples:
1. Unions oppose immigration reform, while the flood of illegals [...]

The Tea Party and OWS both understand that Big Business is dirty up to its eyeballs. The key difference is that Tea Partiers rightly see Washington DC as an ally of big corporate interests, while the OWS naively imagines government is a counterbalance.
If you have any doubt which side is right, read this article from [...]
