Some novel theological thinkers believe we create our own hell. I disagree in general, but think it just might apply to Occupy Wall Street. Their attempts to create heaven on earth, the error of Leftists everywhere, is being crushed once again on the rock of human nature.

Some novel theological thinkers believe we create our own hell. I disagree in general, but think it just might apply to Occupy Wall Street. Their attempts to create heaven on earth, the error of Leftists everywhere, is being crushed once again on the rock of human nature.

In NYC, the tent city is divided into two warring camps - the true believers and the freeloaders. The lure of free food, free sex and excitement has brought out a menagerie of anarchists, homeless people and general thugs who take advantage of the naive generosity of the true believers. Suddenly, the productive half of their society is supporting the freeloading half. One might call it the tyranny of the 47%.

Only a movement so utterly lacking in irony could fail to see the poetic justice in all of this. Hoping to remake society, all they’ve done is recreate our own social problems in microcosm. The hyper-permissive welfare state inclines a nation toward sloth, bankruptcy and chaos.

Given the current temperatures, I imagine it’s a cold day in hell.

Here is the latest concept art for my new novel, Knox’s Irregulars. The initial sketches were rather rough, but by the third iteration I think the artist is actually breaking through to something cool.

Version 1 of my book cover art: Nabil looks lost, the main character is snubbing the reader, and Ariane looks stoned.

Version 2 of my book cover art: Better, except now the battle armor looks like Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man…

Version 3 of my book cover art: Big progress. This version of the battle armor is MUCH better.
