Fast forward over a decade, and we’ve entered an entirely new publishing world. The advent of e-books changed everything. Thanks to social media and the blogosphere, Knox climbed up to #4 in Science Fiction for Kindle, and #9 overall in Science Fiction on Amazon. After a year, it’s returned to earth, but what a trip it was. Thanks to all of you who helped make it a success.
In honor of the anniversary, we’re making Knox’s Irregulars a free download until November 15th. Feel free to give it a read!
I’m standing on a muddy lawn with the cultural affairs guy, and I say, “If I knew it was going to be so messy, I wouldn’t have worn the Bruno Maglis.”
A half second later he comes back with “That’s what O.J. Simpson said.”
A pic from the election day party in Nairobi.
It was a nice party, though it was sad to watch so many Americans cheering for the “Progressive” dismantling of our way of life.
I’m taking a week off from politics to watch The Wire and play Mechwarrior Online. Then it’s back to fighting the good fight.]]>
My 11 year old and I went fishing this evening in a longtail boat here in Thailand. Mostly caught small grouper and snapper, but the trip was worth it to spend some time one on one with him. Plus, the boat’s captain was Mr. Mee, a chainsmoking madman wearing a Hello Kitty shower cap and an army vest. The only other people on the boat were French newlyweds who were sweet as can be.]]>
Dude. JIII and I went diving with bull sharks today at Sail Rock, near Koh Tao island. They reached up to about 10ft in length, but seemed bigger when they were swimming toward you… Didn’t come closer than 4 meters, though that was close enough. We got to watch one eat a squirrel fish - that was pretty awesome.]]>
I think that’s bad news for Obama. Romney just needs to keep showing that he’s a viable alternative to our failed current president. Obama needed to land a solid punch and stall Romney’s building momentum. Romney accomplished his mission, but I don’t think Obama got his.
Lastly, the first snap-polls show Obama winning the debate very narrowly, but Romney winning big on the economy. I think the economy’s going to be decisive this year.
Just caught two of my kids wearing Big Bang hoodies and dancing to Korean pop music. They were pretty embarrassed. My reaction? “Why can’t you be like normal kids and just do drugs?”
